Theme:

Trauma Aftermath is an MR ceramic installation exploring the enduring scars of childhood trauma. The physical sculpture—featuring a dreaded red door, an inescapable vortex, and piercing red thorns—embodies the lingering psychological pain that persists long after the original harm. Through MR, viewers are invited to briefly intervene. By drawing a magical portal in the air, allowing the fish to rest in their palms, and warming it with their fingertips, they offer the trapped fish a temporary sanctuary. This interaction symbolizes the fleeting comfort provided by the outside world to trauma survivors.Ultimately, the artwork reveals that while the help of others opens a door, true salvation comes from within. The red thorns of memory may never fully vanish, but the fish finally swims out of the vortex of the trauma’s aftermath on its own. Leaving the water, it learns to breathe outside its trauma, reclaiming its autonomy, freedom, and power to live.
